
London, February 19, 2024 - In a press conference, FuturED, the Princesse Charlene of Monaco Foundation, and the women's Rugby team of Cha Roga Club, provided details of the agreement by which the organizations joined forces to support women's rugby, on their first anniversary. The international project includes the provinces of Santa Fe, Córdoba, and Mendoza in Argentina.
The founder and director of FuturED, Juan F. Dávila y Verdin, along with its CEO, Gonzalo Pereyra de Olazabal, expressed satisfaction with the program's first year leading the meeting with Norberto Carosso from Club Cha Roga and the current captain of the entity, Carolina Casal.
Attending the event were Enrique Patrizzi, President of the Santa Fe Rugby Union, Director of Sports Carlos Marzo representing the Mayor of Santa Fe, alongside Cristian Hofman from the Autonomous Metropolitan Area Authority (ECAM) and Florencia Gentile from Rights and Citizen Engagement, Councillor Violeta Quiróz, special guests, and representatives of the press.
"We are witnessing a historic moment for female sports, with a relevant role that makes the project viable and achievable," said Juan Dávila y Verdin, thanking the Santotome institution for its commitment and each of the participating players.
"We urge and call for an increase in the number of athletes, and we are convinced that sports and education go hand in hand," he emphasized.
Gonzalo Pereyra de Olazabal, on behalf of FuturED, highlighted: "Rugby promotes values, beyond a sporting result. We seek to revalue these spaces but also to deepen educational processes for the personal development of each individual, in this case, the players of Cha Roga," he said.
Club Cha Roga, thanked the interest and effort of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and FuturED, stressing "their dedication to Rugby and their efforts to strengthen international ties in the pursuit of progress through a sports discipline," as Norberto Carosso stated.
Finally, Captain Carolina Casal also emphasized the importance of having these types of programs. "Women's Rugby undoubtedly needs these types of projects, and we are excited to take advantage of these opportunities. We are hugely appreciative that Cha Roga, which is our family, has been noticed, and we will try to meet and surpass everyone’s expectations".
